GRAVITY: gravity /ˈɡrævɪtɪ/

1- universal force of attraction; 2-seriousness or importance of a situation; 3- low frequency soundwaves, low pitch
In thinking about gravity, the first thing that comes to mind is usually related to falling down. Yes, gravity makes things fall, but it also keeps stuff standing firmly on the ground, and it stops things from floating away from us.
Gravity is also related to seriousness: a grave situation is a heavy one. And yet a grave sound, which refers to a sound with a low frequency or pitch, can be warm, gentle, soothing. It's a deep tone, like that of a bass drum, or a lion's roar. Some of the gravest of sounds can't be perceived by the human ear, yet they resonate in our bodies.
Patricia's favorite interpretation of gravity is the way we relate to each other as people: Who do we gravitate to? Who gravitates toward us? Are we aware that such force affects not just our physical realm but also our deepest desires?
Artist friends Ulla Anobile, Andrea Bogdan, Rosie Garcia, Sophia Gasparian, Mavis Leahy, Angela Maria Ortiz S., Kelly Thompson, and Ilaria Vestri of Disfairy will each be contributing a piece depicting their interpretation of GRAVITY.

For Fran's fourth solo show for us, he will continue his exploration of the magicians. Magicians symbolize the mysteries of existence and nature. They are the alchemists who carry out the eternal cycle of creation-destruction while maintaining the natural balance. These Magicians influence all aspects of existence; from love and death, to natural elements such as: the sea and the land. They represent the strength and ability of the universe, which passes through them as vital energy. And in a magical and inspiring act of will, they perform the task of restoring the chaotic and mysterious but sublimely beautiful world.

La Lotería is a traditional Mexican game of chance, similar to bingo, that uses images on a deck of cards instead of plain numbers. There are 54 images; each has a name and an assigned number. The cards are very colorful and the imagery on them is broadly recognized in all of Mexico, other Latin American countries, as well as European nations.
The most recognized version of La Lotería is the “Don Clemente Gallo” rendition which was introduced in Mexico in 1887 by the French businessman, Don Clemente Jacques. The owners today own the registered trademark and have continued this version through 3 generations with the original artwork remaining the same.

Last year, Nancy sold out her special installation - “Love Letters from Ikaria” - a series of miniature oil paintings done plein air on the patio of her family home in Greece, so we asked her to paint for us again whilst on her summer break.
So excited to get another peek -through Nancy's eyes and heart- of her beloved Ikaria! All works will be small like little postcards or tiny notes.
